Oatmeal Cookie Recipe:
– 1 single-serving packet quick cook oatmeal and maple sugar
– 1/2 cup self-rising flour**
– 1 egg
– 1/4 cup olive oil
– cinnamon sugar or honey to taste
Mix ingredients in plastic bag and spoon individual cookies into greased pan with baking paper. Cook at 375 F oven until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
Apple Crisp Recipe:
– 4 Apples
– 1/4 cup cinnamon and brown sugar
– 1 tbs olive oil
– Oatmeal Granola
Core, peel and cut apples in small pieces; put olive oil, and apple chunks into cooking cup and mix in cinnamon sugar mixture. Cook until apples are tender. Add granola to mixture and serve warm.
Refried Bean Taco Recipe:
– 1 small sweet onion
– 1/2 cup dehydrated refried beans
– 1 tbs olive oil
– 1/2 tsp dehydrated chicken soup
– small package shredded cheese
– flour tortillas
Peel and cut onion; simmer with olive oil until golden brown, add chick soup, refried beans and water. Simmer until mixture thickens. Make tacos with refried bean mixture and shredded cheese.
American Beautyberry Tea Recipe:
– 3 cups ripe beauty berries
– 2 cups water
– honey or other sweetener
Simmer berries and water for 15 minutes; smash berries and drain liquid from berries. Add sweetener to taste and enjoy.
**To make your own self-rising flour, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Make the cardboard oven shown in this video from a corrugated cardboard box. Cut cardboard into two pieces: 12 in x 28 in rectangle and 9-1/2 in diameter circle. Glue heavy-duty aluminum foil to the cardboard with contact cement or white glue. Allow the glue to thoroughly dry for several days before using the oven. Cardboard insulation provides stable temperature control, that is much better an oven with only aluminum sidewalls. Use metal skewers as a baking rack. In this demonstration, I used BioFuel as the heat source. Allternatively, a can of Stereo, or charcoal in a fire bowl could be used. Do not heat cardboard ovens above 450 F. Do not expose cardboard ovens to direct flames of a campfire.
